Abstract

One essential problem of technology is the ever-increasing rate at which it becomes outdated. In the arts, the situation can be quite the opposite: while new technologies are indeed championed for their expressive potential as soon as they arrive, old technologies surface again and again for the very same reason, redefining constantly the meaning of “obsolescence.” There are no driver nor cross-platform issues when it comes to the creative ingenuity of a human mind; however, an unheard-of-before new technological AI-driven paradigm is evolving as we speak, casting a significant question mark over the creative and educational relevance of old technologies. This article proposes an arch over three distinct technological solutions to the same creative problem of show flow within the framework of a theater soundtrack, in the context of an unprecedented artistic crisis: the advent of artificial intelligence.

Rezumat

O problemă esențială a tehnologiei este ritmul din ce în ce mai accelerat cu care devine depășită sau învechită. În domeniul artelor, situația poate fi exact inversă: în timp ce noile tehnologii, de îndată ce apar, sunt într adevăr apreciate pentru potențialul lor expresiv, tehnologiile vechi reapar din nou și din nou, din același motiv, redefinind în mod constant sensul „învechirii”. Nu există probleme legate de drivere sau de compatibilitatea între platforme atunci când vine vorba de ingeniozitatea creativă a minții umane; cu toate acestea, o nouă paradigmă tehnologică, bazată pe inteligență artificială, evoluează chiar acum, punând un semn de întrebare semnificativ asupra relevanței creative și educaționale a vechilor tehnologii. Acest articol propune un arc peste trei soluții tehnologice distincte la aceeași problemă creativă a fluxului spectacular în cadrul unei coloane sonore de teatru, în contextul unei crize artistice fără precedent: apariția inteligenței artificiale.
